The KJV Update Project in 2023

The Holy Scriptures Bible Society is focused on a project to produce a faithful and definitive linguistic update of the King James Version (KJV) of the Holy Bible for our generation. To be clear, our aim is not to change the translation as touching its meaning. The goal is to minimally modernize the language while keeping the same meaning with every single revision. Such a KJV update could be an enormous blessing for millions of people by making it easier to understand the word of God. To date, there is no definitive modern update to the KJV that faithfully retains its meaning throughout the entire text. The New King James Version (NKJV) does not merely update the antiquated language of the KJV, as this project seeks to do. The NKJV contains new translation from the original languages that differs significantly in meaning from the KJV in many places (e.g. Genesis 49:6, 2 Kings 23:29, Job 17:6, Psalm 139:16, Isaiah 9:3, Matthew 6:13). May God indeed give the world an excellent modern KJV. The project currently has a draft of the update for the entire Bible. You can find more details on the project website, www.KJVupdate.com, and on the following GoFundMe fundraiser page:  Help Produce a Faithful Update of the KJV (gofundme.com). We are actively seeking more project Committee members, volunteers, and financial supporters to complete this needed work. Please consider helping, and pray for the project. You can check back later for updates. Praise God for his holy word.
